Application by Emirates to increase helicopter trips

The Department of Planning and Environment (Department) has received a Modification Application and Report for Emirates One&Only Resort, Wolgan Valley – Temporary increase in helicopter trips (MP06_0310-Mod-3).

The Modification Report will be publicly exhibited from Thursday 5 October 2023 to Wednesday 18 October 2023.

The Modification Report can be viewed on the Department’s Major Projects website at https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/…/mod-3-emirates… from Thursday 5 October 2023.

The Department invites you to comment on the modification, including advice on recommended conditions by Wednesday 18 October 2023.

The operation of a luxury tourist resort and associated infrastructure, the approval currently permits:

• daily helicopter trips – 5 trips per day (5 in, 5 out);
• weekly helicopter trips (holiday and peak periods) – 28 trips per week (28 in, 28 out); and
• weekly helicopter trips (all other times) – 14 trips per week (14 in, 14 out).

The modification application seeks to temporarily increase the number of helicopter movements to/from the resort, until such time as two-wheel drive (2WD) access is restored to Wolgan Valley. The proposed modification would permit:

• daily helicopter trips – increase to a total of 15 trips per day (15 in, 15 out); and
• weekly helicopter trips – increase to a total of 105 trips per week (105 in, 105 out).
